optimo pATHFINDER IS AN ONLINE financial STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT PLATFORM FOR AUSTRALIAN FINANCIAL ADVISERS AND PARAPLANNERS WHO WANT TO CREATE COMPREHENSIVE FINANCIAL STRATEGIES FOR THEIR CLIENTS.
Pathfinder can quickly model strategies for a wide range of customer needs, using its unique optimisation process. It performs literally millions of calculations and moves funds dynamically to test the outcome of each decision, year-by-year.
With our series builder, you can change input values year-by-year. For example, if you want to change interest rates over the next few years you just need to enter the new values in the year the change should happen.
For each item in your case, Pathfinder has a set of options you can click that give you the flexibility to create the most appropriate strategy for your clients. When you see the robot icon, it means Pathfinder can optimize for you.
You can get an overview of the results with our plain English strategy summary and action items for every year of the analysis. And if you want to get down to the nitty gritty, we’ve got more detailed results tables than you can poke a stick at.
You can download separate documents containing:
The input data
A strategy paper for your clients to review – it includes the assumptions used, a summary section, action items for the first 3 years (plus some noteworthy longer term ones) and a selection of detailed report tables
A draft SOA – pre-filled with the strategy and input data and ready for you to fill in with the details required by your Dealer Group and compliance officer
Strategy Development Service
Optimo Financial’s Strategy Development Service (SDS) is a paraplanning service where our trained analysts can model strategies that are too complex to be completed within our online platform.
The SDS Strategy contains all the modelling options included in our Online platform, plus more complex modelling, including SMSFs, trusts, margin loans and options as varied as your clients are. There is always the option to start your case in our online version and then submit it to the Strategy Development Service after doing some initial analysis yourself.
In addition to the strategy modelling, we will double-check your data entry, and include descriptions and commentary in the strategy paper. You can also optionally add an SOA.

How Pathfinder Works
Optimo Pathfinder® requires input data consisting of the current financial status of the client, future or recommended investments, lifestyle goals and personal preferences.
From this input, Pathfinder® then works out the best strategy within minutes using an industrial grade optimiser and its patented algorithm. The algorithm has all the government and market rules built-in so the strategy not only keeps within these rules but takes best advantage of them. The optimiser performs literally millions of calculations and moves funds dynamically to test the outcome of each decision, year-by-year, it will find the best path to reach the client’s goals and maximise their financial outcome. The mathematical optimisation within Pathfinder® produces high quality financial strategies consistently and efficiently.
A further advantage of Pathfinder®’s optimisation process is that it covers all aspects of the clients’ specific situation. The strategy is calculated holistically, rather than in separate modules. For example, in a single case it can find the best balance between directly owned assets and a SMSF while also accounting for transition-to-retirement and working out whether any loan repayments should be above the minimum. It works out each strategy based on the specific input data to create a tailored strategy and does not follow trends or biases. Pathfinder® takes the guesswork out of strategy development.
Using its unique optimisation process, Pathfinder can quickly and easily model strategies for a wide range of customer needs.

Financial Planner - Brisbane QLD
Very comprehensive and has long term action items (not just immediate ones) and reasonably flexible with the types of strategies that can be modelled.

I like the option to select ‘Robot’ icon as the optimisation button. Adjusting cash flow for a specific or ongoing years is great. The flow of the Strategy Paper is very succinct and clear, particularly with the wealth outcomes section.

The simplicity is great. The ability to see the big picture is also a plus. It really does look good and feel fantastic. I am still getting used to it but I like that I’m able to make tweaks to the strategy ands see how it changes the outputs.

I appreciate the simplistic approach Pathfinder takes in building scenarios.
